Elizabeth + Kim, MASS MoCA

North Adams, MA

A rare autumn storm that dumped 15 inches of snow on North Adams, MA, set the tone for Elizabeth and Kim’s wedding day and they took it in stride. Elizabeth is a NYC firefighter and our hearts were warmed when we learned her firefighter colleagues and friends had stopped along the way from NYC to the Berkshires to help dig out stranded motorists. It was clear that this wedding was all about celebrating with friends and loved ones.

The ceremony took place in a MASS MoCA gallery, the longest exhibition hall at the contemporary art museum. Cocktail hour followed in an adjoining gallery where guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, a slider station and a specialty martini bar including sour apple and pomegranate. Guests were invited to dinner in the MASS MoCA lobby. Surrounded by large floor-to-ceiling windows, guest dined on sake-braised beef shortribs and chicken roulade while enjoying the beautiful evening snowfall from inside. Guests finished their meal with apple crisp made with Berkshire-grown apples and housemade ice cream. Finally, the evening was complete with lots of fun and festive dancing and group shots at the bar!
