Working with Katie and Ethan was an absolute pleasure. Ethan’s grandfather’s farm and the autumn season set the tone. Katie chose browns and oranges for colors. The ceremony was set facing the mountain views. Guests were given cones of autumn leaves collected at the farm to throw on the bride and the groom as they recessed down the aisle. Blankets in boxes flanked the entry of the ceremony space for any guests who were chilled by the autumn afternoon air. Following the wedding ceremony guests followed the bride and the groom to a series of tents. A bar tent offered hot chocolate and warm cider, a hors d’oeuvres tent had a bountiful table set with local cheeses, concord grapes and fresh local breads for guests to snack on. Finally, a tent with cozy outdoor furniture was available for anyone needing to get off their feet. Outside the tents were fire pits where a jazz band played nearby. During the cocktail hour guests were invited to explore the farm and slate signs were set up inviting guests to visit the beautiful pond. Dinner took place under a tent decorated with lanterns in browns, creams and oranges outlining the dance floor. Guests were invited to a buffet that highlighted local farms and included braised Cricket Creek Farm pork, vegetables from Mighty Food Farm and greens from Peace Valley Farm. The evening ended with energized dancing and a dessert buffet.
